When I first stumbled across Melissa Ambrosini's blog (The Path to Wellness) 3 years ago I knew it was going to be the beginning of a new journey for me. I would spent hours scrolling through her blog reading her posts and learning about her personal journey. Her words touched me deeply and I related so much to what she had been through. I remember one night sitting on my balcony enjoying the beautiful sunset and reading another one of her posts. This post was all about self love and how to create a self love practice. What now seems so ingrained in my way of thinking and a regular practice in my life, self love at the time was something that was as foreign as another language. I'd never really head of the term 'self love' and didn't have a clue what it was all about, all I knew was that I didn't have any.
At the time I was in a new relationship, I was still at uni finishing my degree and was nearing what I now know was the beginning of my spiritual awakening. I'd spent years following the rules, playing it safe, doing what I thought was going to bring me health, happiness and ultimately this vision of a 'perfect life'. As time went on I knew there was more to life and the limitations that I had placed on myself. Melissa and her inspirational words helped me see my potential. She helped me remember who I am, what I am worthy of and most importantly to follow my dreams. It's been a roller coaster 3 years since I found Melissa's blog but I know it has all been part of the universe's bigger plan for me.
It was at Melissa's Perth 'Step It Up' workshop in 2013 that I met the beautiful Claire Baker and Emily Ehlers who were studying to become health coaches with IIN. I had been passionate about health and wellness for a long time and had been searching for a course that could help me to combine me passions with my teaching degree. By February 2014 I was enrolled in IIN and started the journey to becoming a health and wellness coach. While the journey certainly hasn't always been easy now each day I feel inspired and truly connected to my purpose. I am so grateful for Melissa and her courage to share her story with the world, and she has inspired me to do the same.Read More
